The VA North Texas Health Care System is seeking to fill a Physician (Physiatrist) position. The staff physiatrist routinely performs inpatient and outpatient musculoskeletal and neuromuscular examinations, determines diagnoses, and initiates treatments that emphasize restoration of function. The Physiatrist (under the guidance and direction of the Chief of PM&R) will oversee and collaborate to ensure that all applicable clinical functions, as assigned by Chief of PM&Rs are completed timely and optimally. Service responsibilities include but are not limited to: Manage our TBI/Polytrauma Program. Evaluation and management of general PM&R outpatients, spine clinic and EMGs. Provides cross cover for our inpatient rehab unit while the primary attending physician is leave. Weekend call coverage for CIIRP inpatient unit. PM&R Resident and student teaching Execute clinical and non-clinical assignment efficiently, timely and courteous service to all veterans seeking rehabilitative care, and make clinical notes readily available to the referring practitioners. Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application.
