Physician - Psychiatrist (Internal)

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Works with a intradisciplinary Team consisting of other psychiatrists, psychologists, psychiatric social workers, psychiatric nurses, and psychology technicians. Provides consultation and direct care for outpatients manifesting a wide variety of serious psychiatric and psychosocial problems. Responds to emergency consultation requests from the admission area and from other clinics in the medical center Rotates with other physicians on a monthly roster for weekend/holiday coverage, and weeknight backup for residents as assigned. Participate in education and training of psychiatry residents, medical students, psychology interns, and allied health trainees. As time permits, may participate in research projects May be assigned to various programs within Mental Health Service Work Schedule: Full-Time; Mon-Fri; 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
