Physician - Psychiatrist
Perform clinical coverage for the Acute Inpatient Mental Health Units as well as for Psychiatric Consultation-Liaison (CL) services to the Emergency Department (ED) and Acute Care settings throughout the hospital during nocturnist hours (10pm - 8am).

The incumbent will be responsible for the evaluation of patients admitted to the acute inpatient psychiatry units as well as for patients in the Emergency Department and other Acute Care areas of the hospital when psychiatric consultation is requested. The incumbent will be responsible for the development and application of a treatment plan for patients admitted to the acute inpatient psychiatry units. For CL work (within Acute Care, residential, or ED settings), the incumbent will be responsible for delivering recommendations to the primary team for the management and treatment of mental health and behavioral conditions specific to the consultation request that is placed. The incumbent will practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods. Administrative: The incumbent will follow VAPAHCS Policies and National Directives. The incumbent will support and enhance the VAPAHCS mission, values, and goals. Other: The incumbent will provide education of trainees and staff as required. The incumbent may perform other duties as assigned.
