PHYSICIAN (Psychiatry)

A psychiatrist working in a military medical facility reviews patient records, conducts mental health evaluations, prescribes treatments, and provides outpatient care, training, and consultative support to staff.
About the Position: Applicant will complete comprehensive reviews of medical records with the dictation of a behavioral health addendum. Hours are routinely 0700-1530. Can flex as needed. This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
Serve as a Physician (Psychiatry) in a Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) providing examinations, diagnoses, and treatment of mental health diseases.
Provide ambulatory outpatient treatment and consultative services.
Monitors treatment effectiveness through evidence-based medicine.
Provide therapeutic treatment services.
Participate in Quality Assurance (QA) functions, performance improvement, risk management, and peer review programs.
Provide professional consultation, supervision, and collaborative medical support to other staff.
Prescribe pharmacological and psychotherapeutic treatment.
Conduct biopsychosocial evaluations of patients.
Train psychiatric residents, interns, medical students, and other medical and mental health trainees, as needed.
