Rheumatologist physicians diagnose and treat degenerative, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases that affect your musculoskeletal system. Many of these conditions are lifelong, and they can run in families. Manage musculoskeletal pain and repress chronic inflammation.

Rheumatology Physician Responsibilities: Performing assessments to evaluate and determine appropriate treatment plans : degenerative, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases that affect your musculoskeletal system. Assess and diagnose various types of disease and conditions to include but not limited to: Some of the diseases and conditions rheumatologists treat include: Ankylosing spondylitis, Beçhet's disease, Bursitis, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, Gout, Myopathies, Osteoarthritis, Polymyositis, Psoriatic arthritis, Rheumatic fever, Rheumatoid arthritis, Sarcoidosis, Scleroderma, Sjögren's syndrome, Systemic lupus erythematosus, Vasculitis. Prescribing medications and other therapies as needed in various hospital and clinic settings. Acting as a resource person to physicians, nursing, and other hospital staff. Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including physicians, nurses, physical therapists, and nutritionists, to address all aspects of patient care and optimize healing outcomes. Documenting patient information and clinical outcomes. Integrating research findings to clinical practices.
