This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. This position entails providing comprehensive urological care to veteran patients, including the diagnosis, treatment, and management of a wide range of urological conditions and injuries. The provider will contribute to resident education initiatives and will hold a faculty appointment in collaboration with our academic partners. Qualified candidates must be eligible for a faculty appointment at the University of New Mexico based upon qualifications and experience. Credentialing and privileging will be coordinated through the Medical Staff Office Supervisor, under the oversight of the Chief of Staff, in accordance with Medical Staff Bylaws. Demonstrate independent creativity in problem-solving to address the varying needs of patients under care in the Urology Clinic, without direct supervision. Exercise independent professional judgment in diagnosing a broad range of complex urologic conditions, as well as planning and implementing appropriate treatment plans to accommodate changing treatment objectives. Refer patients with multiple health issues to other providers within the facility and the VISN when indicated. Consult with physicians and other relevant providers as needed to enhance patient care, particularly regarding emergent, traumatic, or systemic conditions with urologic manifestations. Utilize the general clinical privileges, including ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, prescribing medications or other formulary items, admitting patients within the VISN when appropriate, and discharging patients from outpatient care once treatment is no longer necessary. Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 0700-1530 with variances plus on call duties.
