1) JOB DESCRIPTION

  • To take personal responsibility for own professional development and keep up to date with professional changes and growth by maintaining mandatory learning hours.

  • To attend internal and external training as recommended by the Services and hospital.

  • To participate in the development of professional and technical standards.

  • Plan, organize, and supervise the Services to ensure product knowledge is current and disseminated effectively, developing an effective workforce.

  • Conduct and evaluate staff in-service training and educational programs to ensure professional work practice is carried out at all times, including systematic documentation of patient information and progress.

  • Prepare service reports and/or budgets in a timely manner for review of service contracts.

  • Contribute to the periodic revision and upgrading of the Services Policies and Procedures and relevant work instructions to ensure compliance and effectiveness of patient care.

  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, guidelines and work instructions to ensure compliance with established standards.

  • Adhere to all Acts. Laws, Rules and Regulations governing the Services at all times.

  • Maintain the confidentiality of patients' personal and medical information in compliance with hospital and legislative requirements.

  • Operate and maintain specialized equipment assigned to the unit: provide assistance and guidance to new staff on proper use.

  • Demonstrate competence in handling specialized equipment and train new staff accordingly.

  • Ensure all equipment in the department is functioning properly and services according to the PPM schedule.

  • Report any faulty equipment to Biomedical personnel and take appropriate action.
