POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for assembling, connecting, and constructing pipe systems for storm or sanitation sewers, drains, and water mains.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Check grade

· Set up laser for pipe alignment

· Cut pipes to required lengths

· Check slopes for conformance to requirements, using levels or lasers

· Lay out pipe routes, following specs or blueprints, and coordinate layouts with supervisor

· Align and position pipes to prepare them for welding or sealing

· Connect pipe pieces and seal joints, using welding equipment, cement or glue

· Tap and drill holes into pipes to introduce auxiliary lines or devices

· Cover pipes with earth or other materials

· Grade and level trench bases, using tamping machines and hand tools

· Promote and adhere to the company’s safety program

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: N/A

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Pipelayer.

· GED or High school diploma
