PIPEFITTER
Houston, TX

If you're a pipefitter who likes moving at a commercial construction pace and running your own scope, this is a role where that's valued. Our client is a growing commercial HVAC contractor working on high-rise buildings, tenant remodels, and warehouses across Texas. They pay $35–$40/hr and provide a truck and gas card, with steady Monday–Friday work and no on-call.

THE BASICS
Location: Houston, TX
Pay: $35–$40/hour, depending on experience
Service Area: Based in Houston. Occasional travel to Austin, Dallas, and San Antonio job sites as needed, with hotel and per diem covered. No relocation required.

On-Call: None. This is not a service role with on-call responsibilities.
Reports To: Field Supervisor

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Run the pipefitting scope on your assigned commercial projects from start to finish
  • Install copper and steel piping
  • Handle welding on commercial HVAC piping systems
  • Coordinate with your supervisor and the other trades on site to keep projects moving
  • Read plans and get ahead of your material needs before work starts

  • Travel to out-of-town project sites when needed, with lodging and per diem paid

WHY PIPEFITTERS LIKE WORKING HERE

  • Company vehicle or truck allowance. If your HOA doesn't allow a work truck in the driveway, you can take the allowance instead.
  • Gas card
  • Company-provided tablet
  • Medical insurance, with the company paying a portion of the employee premium
  • Dental and ancillary benefits
  • 401(k) with up to 4% company match
  • 6 paid holidays
  • Paid time off, starting at one week after your first year, negotiable for experienced hires
  • Christmas/performance bonuses when the company does well (not guaranteed)
  • Steady, non-union work: the job keeps going when union strikes shut sites down
  • Optional weekend work when it's available, with no pressure if you'd rather keep your weekends
  • Material is typically brought to the job site by a dedicated crew, so you spend your day fitting pipe instead of making parts runs
  • A team with long tenure, including field employees who've been there 15+ years

Required:

  • 5–10 years of pipefitting experience, including commercial work
  • Copper piping experience
