Piping Designer
Summary
Designs and models 3D piping layouts for offshore oil & gas projects using E3D/PDMS, producing GA drawings, isometrics, and support drawings while coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams.
Role Summary
The Piping Designer will support and/or lead the development of piping layouts and 3D design solutions for offshore oil & gas projects.
The role can be calibrated depending on candidate seniority:
Junior level: Focus on drafting support and development
Mid-level: Full ownership of design deliverables and project execution
The position will contribute to safe, compliant, and practical design solutions, working across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Modelling
Develop and/or support 3D piping models (E3D / PDMS)
Produce and update:
General Arrangement (GA) drawings
Isometrics
Area layouts
Pipe support drawings
Perform equipment layout modelling
Project Execution
Support or lead brownfield and modification projects
Participate in:
Site surveys
Offshore visits
Data collection
Assist in tie-in design and routing in existing facilities
Coordination & Interfaces
Coordinate with:
Structural
Mechanical
Process
E&I disciplines
Ensure efficient interface management across teams
(Mid-level) Communicate directly with client
Engineering & Quality
Apply company and client design standards and specifications
Support clash detection and model reviews
Contribute to:
Constructability reviews
Maintainability assessments
Ensure compliance with offshore regulations

Option 1 – Junior Designer
1–5 years experience
Basic exposure to piping design / drafting
Requires supervision and training
Option 2 – Mid-Level Designer
5–10+ years experience
Strong experience in:
Offshore projects
Brownfield modifications
3D modelling (E3D / PDMS)
Ability to work independently across full project lifecycle
Education
Diploma / HND / Bachelor’s degree in:
Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Relevant experience may compensate for formal education
