Pit Crew Performer
Hendrick Motorsports, a leader in the auto racing industry, is currently looking for a Pit Crew Performer.
Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to perform at a high speed and demonstrate agility in servicing the race car during race pit stops, either as a tire changer, jackman, tire carrier or fueler.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
- Demonstrates extreme agility, speed, physical endurance, fine manipulation skills, and strong eye/hand coordination.
- Responsible for maintaining diet and weight control throughout the season.
- Responsible for jumping off the wall and being able to sprint in front of or behind the car as it passes without getting hit.
- Assists in set-up and breakdown for track-related events.
- Assists in shop as needed.
- May be responsible for carrying and removing tires, jack, or fuel can during the pit stop.

Attendance Expectations:
- Ability to meet pit practice and pit stop preparation practice demands. Ability to travel a minimum of 75% annually. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Physical Demands:
- Physical ability to go over the wall and move quickly during the pit stop. Vision (near, distance, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – fire suit, hearing protection.
- Occasionally sits, crawls, lifts/carries over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.
- Frequently reaches above shoulder, climbs, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries up to 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls 40 pounds.
- Constantly stands, walks, manually manipulates, reaches outward, lifts/carries 20 pounds, and pushes/pulls 25 pounds.
Education/Experience:
- Athletic / sports experience preferred
Environment Demands:
- Primarily works and trains outdoors.
