Job Summary
The Placement Coordinator will be responsible for planning,
coordinating, and implementing placement activities for trainees enrolled under
the Skill Development Project. The role focuses on achieving placement targets
through strong industry engagement, employer partnerships, apprenticeship
opportunities, and effective candidate support. The incumbent will establish
linkages with industries across STEM, Non-STEM, and ITI sectors to create
sustainable employment opportunities for trainees while ensuring compliance
with project guidelines and stakeholder requirements.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Employer Engagement & Placement Facilitation
- Identify,
approach, and onboard employers across various sectors for recruitment and
workforce requirements.
- Develop
and maintain long-term relationships with HR professionals, recruiters,
and hiring managers.
- Conduct
regular employer visits to understand current and future manpower needs.
- Organize
placement drives, campus recruitment programs, job fairs, and employer
interaction sessions.
- Coordinate
interview schedules and facilitate the selection process between employers
and trainees.
- Ensure
timely mobilization of candidates for interviews and joining formalities.
- Maintain
a comprehensive database of employers, vacancies, and recruitment
outcomes.
2. Industry Linkages & Partnerships
STEM Sector Engagement
- Build
partnerships with industries in Information Technology (IT), Engineering,
Electronics, Renewable Energy, Automation, Telecom, Manufacturing,
Healthcare Technology, and Emerging Technologies.
- Facilitate
industry interactions, technical workshops, guest lectures, and exposure
visits.
Non-STEM Sector Engagement
- Develop
linkages with employers in Retail, Hospitality, Tourism, Logistics, BFSI,
E-commerce, Customer Service, Healthcare Support, Education, Sales &
Marketing, and Service Industries.
- Generate
employment opportunities aligned with trainees' skills and career
aspirations.
ITI Industry Engagement
- Establish
partnerships with industries employing ITI and college certified
candidates
- Coordinate
recruitment drives specifically for ITI & college graduates and technical
trainees.
3. Apprenticeship, Internship & OJT Coordination
- Promote
apprenticeship opportunities under relevant government schemes such as
NAPS and NATS.
- Facilitate
internships, apprenticeships, and On-the-Job Training (OJT) opportunities.
- Coordinate
with employers for trainee exposure and workplace learning experiences.
- Track
conversion of apprenticeship and internship candidates into regular
employment.
4. Candidate Support & Career Services
- Conduct
pre-placement orientation programs.
- Assist
trainees in resume preparation and job applications.
- Organize
mock interviews, soft skills sessions, and career counselling programs.
- Guide
candidates regarding industry expectations, workplace ethics, and career
pathways.
- Support
trainees throughout the recruitment and onboarding process.
5. Placement Tracking & Documentation
- Maintain
accurate placement records and candidate databases.
- Collect
and verify placement-related documents including:
- Offer
Letters
- Appointment
Letters
- Joining
Reports
- Salary
Slips
- Retention
Proofs
- Monitor
candidate retention and post-placement support activities.
- Ensure
proper documentation for audits, inspections, and stakeholder reviews.
6. MIS, Reporting & Compliance
- Update
placement data in MIS systems regularly.
- Generate
weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual placement reports.
- Ensure
compliance with project guidelines, government regulations, and funding
agency requirements.
- Coordinate
with trainers, mobilizers, center teams, and project stakeholders for
placement planning and execution.
- Support
internal and external audits.
7. Placement Target Achievement
- Achieve
placement targets as prescribed under the Skill Development Project.
- Ensure
sector-wise placement opportunities for STEM, Non-STEM, and ITI
candidates.
- Monitor
placement conversion ratios and implement corrective actions where
required.
- Track
job quality indicators including salary levels, retention rates, and
career progression opportunities.
