Role & Responsibilities of a Placement Coordinator (IT)

1. Employer Engagement & Business Development

  • Identify and connect with IT companies for job opportunities, internships, and hiring partnerships.
  • Build and maintain relationships with recruiters, hiring managers, and HR teams.
  • Explore new employers and hiring channels to increase placement opportunities.

2. Candidate Placement Management

  • Match candidates with suitable IT job openings based on their skills and career aspirations.
  • Coordinate interviews, assessments, and hiring processes.
  • Track candidate progress from application to joining.

3. Placement Target Achievement

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual placement targets.
  • Ensure quality placements and maximize candidate retention after joining.
  • Monitor and improve placement conversion rates.

4. Candidate Readiness & Support

  • Conduct resume reviews, mock interviews, and career guidance sessions.
  • Prepare candidates for technical and HR interviews.
  • Support candidates throughout the recruitment process.

5. Stakeholder Coordination

  • Collaborate with training teams to align candidate skills with industry requirements.
  • Coordinate with project teams, center staff, and employers to ensure smooth hiring drives.
  • Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders.

6. Data Management & MIS Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of job openings, interviews, placements, and employer interactions.
  • Update placement trackers and MIS reports regularly.
  • Analyze placement data and share insights with management.

7. Job Drive & Event Management

  • Plan and execute campus drives, virtual hiring events, and recruitment campaigns.
  • Coordinate logistics, scheduling, and candidate participation.
  • Ensure a positive experience for both employers and candidates.

8. Post-Placement Follow-up

  • Track candidate joining status and retention.
  • Address issues faced by placed candidates and employers.
  • Collect feedback to improve placement outcomes.
