Summary
Coordinates manufacturing schedules, inventory, and engineering changes for commercial kitchen equipment, ensuring on-time delivery while optimizing stock and workflows.
We are Frymaster! We design, manufacture and supply high-performance conveyor ovens for high-volume operations for the global commercial foodservice market. We empower you to grow with us. We recognize you and reward you. We win together as one team.
The Planner/Scheduler sits at the center of everything that happens on our plant floor. This role owns the full flow of parts and schedules — sizing the parts we manufacture so we never run short or build excess, managing Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) as designs evolve (substituting parts, using up existing inventory, and scheduling new parts to seamlessly take over for parts being replaced), evaluating warranty and customer returns through our rework process to determine reuse potential, and scheduling our assembly lines to hit customer-requested ship dates. Our department is one of the most dynamic and fast-moving in the company right now: we are actively modernizing our planning tools, our data, and our processes, and this role is central to that transformation. This position works cross-functionally with Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, and Shipping to meet customer demand while optimizing inventory levels, capacity utilization, and on-time delivery performance.
Reporting directly to the Team Lead/Master Scheduler, this position is based in Shreveport, LA.
This position is open to candidates who are authorized to work and reside in the following states: Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin or Wyoming. - Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize workflow and reduce bottlenecks
- Support continuous improvement initiatives in planning processes
- Size parts using statistically sound inventory methods to prevent shortages while avoiding excess and obsolete inventory
- Manage the planning and scheduling impact of Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), including part substitutions, use-up strategies, and seamless cutover scheduling for replaced parts
- Evaluate parts returned from the field through warranty and customer returns to determine rework, reuse, or disposition
- Schedule assembly lines to align production with customer-requested ship dates
- Champion and help drive change as the department modernizes its planning tools and processes

- Track key metrics such as on-time delivery, schedule adherence, inventory levels, and capacity utilization
- Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems
- Manage the ECN process for the department — coordinating part substitutions, using up existing inventory, and scheduling new parts to seamlessly take over for parts being phased out
- Review parts returned from the field (warranty and customer returns) through the rework process and determine whether they can be reworked or repurposed into other assemblies
- Apply statistical sizing methods (e.g., periodic order-up-to, safety stock) to set min/max and reorder levels that prevent shortages without creating excess inventory
- Schedule assembly lines to meet customer-requested ship dates, and communicate part and pick requirements clearly to the picking team to ensure on-time delivery to the line
- Assist in S&OP or demand planning processes
