Purpose & Scope of Position

The Planning Engineer will represent the Project Management Consultant in establishing, reviewing, and monitoring integrated schedules for 400 kV and above transmission line and substation packages. The role focuses on baseline validation, progress measurement, critical-path analysis, interface coordination, forecasting, delay identification, recovery planning, and timely management reporting

Experience

8–12 years of planning, scheduling, and project-controls experience in 400 kV and above transmission line and substation projects.

Qualification

B.E. / B.Tech in Civil / Electrical Engineering; certification or advanced training in Primavera P6 / MS Project preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as PMC planning representative for transmission line and substation packages.
  • Review contractor WBS, baseline schedules, activity logic, durations, calendars, constraints, milestones, and resource loading.
  • Develop and maintain integrated schedules covering engineering, procurement, construction, testing, commissioning, energisation, and handover.
  • Establish progress-measurement methods aligned with BOQ, schedule of values, contractual milestones, and verified site quantities.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, monthly, two-week, and three-month look-ahead schedules, S-curves, resource histograms, and milestone trackers.
  • Verify reported physical progress with site records and engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
  • Monitor critical and near-critical paths, identify slippages and constraints, and recommend corrective, recovery, or acceleration measures.
  • Track drawing approvals, long-lead materials, manufacturing, dispatch, site receipt, work-front readiness, and package interfaces.
  • Support review of extension-of-time and delay claims through event chronology, contemporaneous records, and schedule-impact analysis.
  • Prepare dashboards, MIS, schedule narratives, risk registers, forecasts, and management-review presentations.
