Educational qualifications

Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering from a recognized university.
Postgraduate diploma or certification in project planning and control is an added advantage.

Registrations / certifications

Certified project management professional (PMP) or equivalent (preferred).
Training in earned value management (EVM) or cost control is advantageous.
ISO 9001:2015 quality management system awareness (preferable).

Experience

- 5 to 10 years of experience in project planning and scheduling for large-scale construction and MEP projects such as commercial, residential, industrial, and infrastructure developments.
- Minimum 3-4 years of GCC experience, preferably in the UAE.
- Proven experience in planning, monitoring, and reporting of engineering, procurement, and construction activities in fast-track projects.

Computer software proficiency

- Expert in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project for project scheduling and progress tracking.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit MEP for understanding construction sequences (preferred).
- Familiar with ERP systems and Power BI dashboards for project reporting and analytics.

Duties & responsibilities

- Develop and maintain the overall project schedule using Primavera P6, ensuring logical sequencing of construction, procurement, and commissioning activities.
- Establish the project baseline program in coordination with the project manager, engineers, and department heads.
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly progress and update schedules to reflect actual site performance and productivity.
- Coordinate with site engineers, procurement, and subcontractors to ensure timely delivery of materials, equipment, and resources.
- Analyze critical path activities and prepare recovery or mitigation programs in case of delays.
- Review and integrate subcontractor schedules into the master program and monitor their performance.
- Track and report engineering deliverables, procurement milestones, and construction progress.
- Prepare progress s-curves, manpower histograms, and resource allocation charts for management review.
- Generate weekly and monthly progress reports highlighting variances, slippages, and forecast completion dates.
- Support the commercial team in evaluating extension of time (EOT) claims and delay impact analyses.
- Coordinate with the cost control department to link cost data with the project schedule for earned value analysis.
- Review tender documents and prepare preliminary project schedules, identifying key milestones and resource requirements.
- Conduct site visits to verify progress, assess productivity, and collect data for schedule updates.
- Participate in project meetings with clients and consultants, presenting schedule status and mitigation strategies.
- Ensure planning and reporting activities comply with contractual requirements and project execution plans.
- Assist in preparing handover schedules and final project documentation, including as-built programs.
- Support implementation of project control procedures to ensure alignment with company policies and ISO standards.
