Planning & Scheduling Engineer
Summary
Develop and maintain project schedules, monitor performance, and report progress using Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office tools.
Planning
and Schedule Development
- Assist in reviewing
contracts, Invitations to Bid (ITB), project specifications, and execution
plans to understand project requirements and schedule expectations.
- Support the
development and maintenance of project schedules and planning
deliverables.
- Assist in
collecting, validating, and organizing schedule-related information from
project disciplines.
- Support development
and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) ,
including JGC FWBS and PCWBS.
- Participate in
schedule reviews and discussions with project stakeholders.
- Assist in preparing
Basis of Schedule documents and schedule assumptions.
- Develop and
maintain schedule data using Primavera P6 and other tools.
Schedule
Monitoring and Control
- Update and maintain
project schedules based on progress information received from project
teams.
- Monitor schedule
performance and identify variances from approved plans.
- Assist in analyzing
schedule trends, critical path activities, and schedule risks.
- Support preparation
of schedule forecasts and recovery plans.
- Participate in
schedule review meetings and progress discussions.
- Assist in
communicating schedule status and issues to project stakeholders.
Progress
Measurement and Reporting
- Support
implementation of progress measurement systems and procedures.
- Collect and
validate project progress data from engineering, procurement,
construction, commissioning, and other project functions as applicable.
- Assist in preparing
project progress reports and schedule presentations.
- Support development
of progress curves, performance indicators, and reporting tools.
- Monitor actual
progress against approved baseline schedules.
Schedule
Analysis and Risk Management
- Assist in
conducting schedule analyses and schedule impact assessments.
- Support schedule
risk assessments and delay analyses as directed.
- Participate in
scenario evaluations and schedule studies.
- Assist in preparing
schedule information required for management reviews and client reporting.
- Support preparation
of documentation related to Extension of Time (EOT) evaluations when
required.
Coordination
and Communication
- Coordinate with
project team members to obtain accurate and timely planning and scheduling
information.
- Support
communication between project functions regarding schedule requirements
and priorities.
- Build and maintain
effective working relationships with team members, clients, and project
stakeholders.
- Participate in
project meetings and contribute to planning and scheduling discussions.
Continuous
Improvement
- Follow JGC planning
and scheduling procedures, standards, and best practices.
- Contribute to
continuous improvement initiatives within the planning and scheduling
function.
- Seek opportunities
to improve technical knowledge and project control skills.
Other
Duties
- Perform other
duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Duties and
responsibilities may vary depending on project phase, assignment, and
business requirements.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree
in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related
discipline.
- Between 3–10
years of experience in planning, scheduling, project controls, or project
execution environments.
- Experience in Oil
& Gas, Petrochemical, or related industries is preferred.
- Experience
supporting proposal, FEED, and EPC projects is desirable.
Technical
Competencies
- Basic to
intermediate knowledge of planning and scheduling principles.
- Understanding of
Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) concepts.
- Working knowledge
of Primavera P6 or willingness to develop proficiency.
- Familiarity with
project scheduling techniques, progress measurement, and reporting
processes.
- Ability to analyze
data and identify trends and issues.
- Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
