Position Overview
As a key member of the Operations team this person will be responsible to assess and report on the financials of the Cambridge facility. This position will be the go to resource for the Production & Maintenance teams ability to meet budget and help ensure financial stability of the plant.
Production and Operations Analysis
Prepare and distribute daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance reports.
Analyze production efficiencies, labour utilization, downtime, waste, and yield metrics.
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
Support plant management with data-driven recommendations to improve productivity and reduce costs.
Track production results against budgets, forecasts, and operational targets.
Cost and Financial Analysis
Assist in monitoring and analyzing plant manufacturing costs.
Investigate variances related to labour, materials, waste, and overhead expenses.
Support monthly financial reporting and plant performance reviews.
Maintain and update cost analysis reports and operational dashboards.
Partner with Finance to support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Inventory and Reporting
Monitor inventory levels and investigate discrepancies.
Support cycle counts and physical inventory processes.
Analyze inventory transactions to ensure data accuracy.
Maintain reporting databases and ensure the integrity of production and inventory data.
Develop and automate reports to improve business insights and reporting efficiency.
Continuous Improvement
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence projects.
Identify opportunities for process improvements through analysis of operational data.
Support root cause analysis for operational issues and performance gaps.
Assist with the implementation and tracking of corrective actions.
Cross-Functional Support
Collaborate with Production, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, Supply Chain, and Finance teams.
Provide analytical support for capital projects, productivity initiatives, and operational improvements.
Prepare presentations and reports for plant leadership meetings.
Support special projects and business initiatives as required.
Qualifications
Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, Accounting, Operations Management, Engineering, Statistics, or a related field.
2 to 5 years of experience in a manufacturing, operations analysis, business analysis, or financial analysis role.
Experience working in a manufacturing or food production environment is considered an asset.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.
Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Dayforce, JDE, or a similar platform is preferred.
Experience using Power BI or other reporting and visualization tools is an asset.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
