Plant Engineer
Essential Responsibility:
• This position is responsible for assisting in the development and the implementation of process improvements after detailed planning, analyzing, prototype building and optimizing process and/or equipment conditions is completed, as well as for coordinating and conducting equipment trials, studies and testing of new ideas, while evaluating and reporting results to the Management team.
List of Key Tasks / Primary Responsibilities:
• Performs Engineering Functions by assisting in developing, planning and implementing process and/or equipment improvements and evaluates results; by analyzing and resolving work problems, as well as assisting workers in solving work problems; by assisting with the development of new products and routings for all new prototypes and products, including performing time studies on various operations, or including review of engineering drawings or specifications to ascertain procedures, process standards, process capability, or tooling requirements to meet form and function, using engineering skills; by successfully coordinating and managing a multitude of projects simultaneously, while completing them within their designated time and budget framework; by reviewing or planning project instructions and specifications to identify, modify, design, or develop requirements for fabrication, assembly, and testing; by performing technical writing and document control including drawing, update schedules for various projects, record keeping for new devices and systems and provide procedures, work instructions and forms as required; and by performing any other engineering functions as necessary.
• Contributes to the Improvement of Processes and Procedures by coordinating activities with the Process Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Director, Managers, and Supervisors to minimize effects on production; by suggesting changes in production conditions and the use of equipment to increase the efficiency of production or prototype parts; by initiating or suggesting plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals; and by providing ongoing suggestions to processes and procedures; by performing root cause analysis of customer complaints or defective product to eliminate failure modes within the production process or improve process capability.
