Plant Manager
Lead one of Valmet's key manufacturing sites and shape its next phase of operational excellence.
Are you an experienced manufacturing leader ready to take the next step in your career? Do you thrive in environments where people, performance, and continuous improvement go hand in hand?
At Valmet, we are looking for an ambitious and development-oriented Plant Manager to lead our manufacturing site in Hagfors, Sweden. This is a unique opportunity to combine hands-on leadership with strategic business impact while playing a key role in Valmet's global manufacturing network.
As Plant Manager, you will have full responsibility for the site's safety, people, operations, and financial performance. You will translate business strategy into operational execution, ensuring sustainable growth, operational excellence, and world-class customer satisfaction.
This is more than a traditional plant leadership role. It is an opportunity to influence the future direction of an important Valmet manufacturing site while becoming part of a global leadership network within a leading technology company.
Hagfors is located in the Värmland region, approximately one hour from Karlstad. We welcome applications from candidates already living in the area, as well as from those interested in relocating or commuting from Karlstad or nearby towns. Given the nature of the role, a regular on-site presence in Hagfors is important, with most working days spent at the site.
As Plant Manager, you will:
- Lead and develop a manufacturing organization of approximately 100 professionals.
- Take overall responsibility for Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), operational performance, quality, delivery, and profitability.
- Drive a culture of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement across all functions.
- Lead production, production engineering, maintenance, purchasing, and site support functions.
- Set clear operational goals and ensure the organization is structured and resourced to achieve them.
- Drive improvements in productivity, cost competitiveness, quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Utilize data-driven decision making to achieve world-class manufacturing performance.
- Lead change initiatives and support organizational development in line with business objectives.
- Build strong relationships with employees, unions, customers, local authorities, and other key stakeholders.
- Contribute actively to Valmet's global manufacturing network and share best practices across sites.
Requirements
We are looking for a leader with a proven track record of delivering results in a complex industrial environment. You are passionate about safety, operational excellence, and developing people and teams.
To succeed in this role, you bring:
- Several years of leadership experience managing manufacturing operations and full production organizations.
- Strong experience in Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- A demonstrated track record in driving HSE performance and fostering a strong safety culture.
- Experience leading organizational change and successfully implementing improvement initiatives.
- Solid understanding of production processes, quality management, maintenance, productivity improvement, and supply chain collaboration.
- Good financial and business acumen.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Fluency in Swedish and English.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
As a person, you are analytical, systematic, and solution-oriented. You lead through collaboration, inspire trust, and create an environment where people can perform at their best.
