Plant Manager
Leadership & Management
- Lead, coach, and develop plant leadership team, supervisors, and employees.
- Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
- Establish clear performance expectations and support employee development initiatives.
- Drive employee engagement and retention through effective communication and leadership.
- Manage workforce planning to ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Direct all manufacturing activities to achieve production, quality, and delivery objectives.
- Monitor and improve overall equipment effectiveness, productivity, and throughput.
- Lead daily plant performance reviews and production meetings.
- Ensure compliance with production schedules and customer requirements.
- Manage plant operating budgets and financial performance.
- Monitor labor, material, maintenance, and overhead costs.
- Lead continuous improvement efforts to reduce defects, waste, and customer complaints.
- Support new product introductions and process validation activities.
Safety, Health & Environmental (EHS)
- Champion a zero-incident safety culture.
- Ensure compliance with all OSHA, environmental, and company safety requirements.
- Lead safety audits, risk assessments, corrective actions, and incident investigations.
- Maintain compliance with local, provincial/state, and federal regulations.
Quality & Food Safety
- Ensure all products meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Support and maintain quality management systems such as GMP, and customer-specific requirements.
Maintenance
- Provide direct leadership and oversight of the Maintenance functions.
- Ensure robust preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs are implemented and sustained.
- Maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
- Manage maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, and contractor services.
- Collaborate with engineering teams on capital projects and equipment upgrades.
Qualifications, Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, Business, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent manufacturing or maintenance leadership experience will be considered.
- 8+ years of manufacturing leadership experience.
- Minimum 5 years managing a manufacturing facility or multiple departments.
- Experience in packaging, plastics, blown film extrusion, cast film extrusion, flexible packaging, or converting operations strongly preferred.
- Proven track record of improving safety, productivity, quality, and financial performance.
- Strong understanding of extrusion processes and packaging manufacturing operations.
- Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement expertise.
- Knowledge of ERP/MRP systems.
- Strong financial and business acumen.
