Foundry Plant Manager.
We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated Plant Manager to join our Senior Leadership team. The Plant Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of our foundry and production processes. The successful candidate will demonstrate exemplary leadership skills, strong business acumen, and possess deep expertise in manufacturing to lead a team of professionals through the production of high-quality castings while maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Responsible for overall plant operations, labor efficiency, and leadership of department supervisors, including hiring, training, developing, and coaching supervisors.
· Utilize production and labor data to drive improvements in profitability through labor efficiency and scrap reduction
· Establish and monitor production metrics for critical activities
· Effectively communicate goals, objectives, and expectations and hold team members accountable for performance metrics, providing regular feedback and addressing issues as needed.
· Ensure that the team is adequately trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively.
· Maintain a strong commitment to workplace safety, enforcing policies, and promoting a culture of safety.
· Monitor production schedules, quality control, and production efficiency to meet customer demands.
· Collaborate with engineering, sales, and purchasing departments and build strong working relationships.
· Communicate updates, issues, and process changes with other members of leadership team to drive operational efficiency.
· Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimize plant performance.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental, health, and safety regulations.
· Identify opportunities for cost-saving measures.
· Oversee inventory levels and coordinate with procurement to ensure a steady supply of raw materials.
· Optimize inventory control processes to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
· Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to meet customer expectations and resolve issues promptly.
· Foster strong customer relationships through communication and quality assurance.
· Perform all other duties and responsibilities, as necessary.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business management, or a related field is preferred.
· At least 10 years of prior foundry or job shop manufacturing experience with a minimum of five (5) years of prior experience managing a team of supervisors or managers.
· Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
· Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Proficient in MS Office and other relevant software applications.
· Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations.
