Summary
Operates and maintains boilers, turbines, and HVAC systems to provide utility services, performs preventative maintenance, and ensures regulatory compliance in a healthcare facility.
A Day in the Life
The Plant Operator is responsible for Operating stationary engines and mechanical equipment including but not exclusive to steam and hot water boilers, steam turbines, generators, air handlers, air conditioners, chillers, and water softeners to provide utility services. This position observes meters, records operating conditions of equipment along with performing preventative maintenance and repairs, and regulatory documentation as needed.
What’s Required
- .High School Diploma or GED
Experience in the operation, inspection preparation and preventive maintenance of high pressure boilers, controls, feed water systems and steam specialties
Valid MI Driver License
State of Michigan Third-Class Stationary Engineer Registration- Must be completed within three years or an approved equivalency.
