Role Overview
Lead the overall Quality Assurance function across New Product Development (NPD) and ongoing operations, ensuring robust quality systems, zero-defect mindset, and alignment with customer and regulatory requirements.
This role works closely with Design, Manufacturing, Supplier Quality, and Customer teams to establish robust quality processes and ensure defect-free product launches and sustained operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Ensure implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in line with ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 requirements.
  • Develop, review, and enforce quality procedures, SOPs, control plans, inspection standards, and quality documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, statutory, and regulatory standards.
  • Conduct periodic system reviews to ensure process effectiveness and compliance.
  • Promote quality culture, process discipline, and quality awareness across the organization.
2. New Product Development (NPD) Quality
  • Lead Quality Assurance activities during New Product Development (NPD) from design validation to production readiness.
  • Participate in design reviews, feasibility studies, DFMEA, and PFMEA activities.
  • Ensure quality requirements are defined and integrated into product and process design.
  • Review engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, and technical specifications.
  • Lead APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) activities and milestone tracking.
  • Prepare, review, and approve PPAP documentation including:
  • Control Plan

  • Process Flow Diagram

  • PFMEA

  • MSA & SPC studies

  • Inspection standards

Ensure successful First Article Inspection (FAI), process validation, and product qualification prior to mass production.

Support customer approvals and new product launch activities.
3. Inspection & Process Validation

  • Develop inspection plans and validation methods for new and existing products and processes.
  • Validate dimensional and functional requirements using CMM and precision measuring instruments.
  • Perform and review GD&T inspections including runout, concentricity, flatness, perpendicularity, and positional accuracy.
  • Ensure manufacturing process capability for CNC machining, grinding, assembly, and precision manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct process capability studies (Cp, Cpk) and implement actions for process improvement.
  • Establish process controls to ensure consistent product quality.

    4. Incoming, In-Process & Final Quality Control
  • Monitor Incoming Quality Control (IQC), In-Process Quality Control (IPQC), and Final Inspection activities for following process,CNC Machining, Grinding, Machine assembly, Special process(Heat treatment,Painting).
  • Ensure products comply with specifications, drawings, customer requirements, and quality standards.
  • Review and approve inspection reports, quality records, deviation requests, and concession approvals.
  • Ensure proper implementation of inspection frequencies, sampling plans, and quality checkpoints.
  • Coordinate with Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) for supplier quality performance improvement.

    5. Problem Solving & Corrective Actions
    Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for customer complaints, internal defects, supplier issues, and process failures.

Apply structured problem-solving methodologies including:

  • 8D

  • 5 Why Analysis

  • Fishbone (Ishikawa)

  • Pareto Analysis

Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) for effectiveness and sustainability.

Ensure horizontal deployment of lessons learned across similar processes and products.
6. Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze rejection, rework, scrap, COPQ, and quality trend data.
  • Identify improvement opportunities to reduce defects, process variation, and operational waste.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and Poka-Yoke concepts.
  • Monitor process performance and implement preventive quality controls.
  • Support operational excellence initiatives through data-driven decision-making.
    7. Audits & Compliance
  • Plan and lead internal audits, process audits, layered process audits, and external/customer audits.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit findings and non-conformities.
  • Maintain audit readiness across all functions and processes.
  • Ensure compliance with QMS standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures.
  • Support certification and surveillance audit activities.
    8. Performance Monitoring & Reporting

Define, monitor, and report quality KPIs including:

  • Customer complaints

  • Rejection & rework

  • Supplier PPM

  • COPQ

  • Process capability

Prepare and present quality performance reports during Management Review Meetings (MRM).

Track action plans and ensure achievement of quality objectives and targets.

Drive data-based decision-making through trend analysis and performance monitoring.

9. Team Development & Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Identify training needs and ensure competency development of QA/QC teams.
  • Mentor and guide quality engineers, inspectors, and cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate with Design, Manufacturing, Production, SQA, Planning, and Customers for quality alignment.
  • Support new product approvals, customer audits, and technical discussions.
  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and a proactive quality culture across the organization.



Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

  • Good understanding of precision machining, grinding, assembly, and manufacturing processes.

  • Strong understanding of QMS standards and quality assurance systems.

  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA methodologies.
