Responsibilities:

  • Provides leadership and training to accomplish production objectives to all employees for Safety, Quality, Production, and Maintenance.
  • Supervise production activities to ensure production goals/objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
  • Works with operations team to ensure vacancies are covered for any planned/unplanned absences.
  • Monitors shift performance for safety, quality, and production standards.
  • Provides production data accurately into system in order to measure and monitor KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) around efficiencies, downtime, inventory and overall production.
  • Leads employee start-up meetings.
  • Works with other team members to control and improve efficiencies, minimize labor overtime, downtime and repair expenses. Implements cost effective systems around this as necessary.
  • Promotes shop floor organization, plant housekeeping with active participation from employees and utilizing lean techniques such as 5S, Kaizen, 7 wastes and TPM.
  • Acts as first point of contact for operators regarding mechanical failure or production issues; Directs maintenance employees to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform preventative maintenance. Overcome challenges and issues preventing the team from accomplishing its goals.
  • Participate in conjunction with the Plant Manager in capital improvement or process optimization projects related to the reconditioning line.
  • Provides active site surveillance to ensure safety compliance.
  • Responsible for training new employees on all areas of production floor.
  • Manage inventory of PPE and MRO items for the plant.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years Plant Supervisory experience within an industrial production setting or manufacturing environment. An equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations management, or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience working in a Lean environment; Embraces continuous improvement.
  • Strong organizational skills with experience enforcing and maintaining company policy and programs on the plant floor.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self-directed team player.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
