Grow together

Timely delivery of DHL packages around the globe depends on an infrastructure platform that is consistent, secure and future-proof — and that platform needs an owner. As our Platform Architect and Platform Owner, you will define the target architecture for Infrastructure Platform Services (IPS), design the Crossplane-based control plane, and act as design authority for the platform — authoring Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), running architecture gate reviews, and keeping our architecture IP firmly in-house with no vendor dependency.

You will own the platform end to end across Build and Run: shaping the run operating model, aligning the technology roadmap across the Compute & Storage, Data & Observability, Secure Connectivity and Infrastructure Security domains, and making sure every design decision supports our Private Cloud 2.0 ambition.

For any question on target architecture, control-plane design or platform standards within the DHL Group environment, you are our go-to architect. The same applies when it comes to proposing, designing and governing changes to the platform — reference architectures, golden paths and policy guardrails (OPA, Kyverno) included.

Last but not least, you will work hand in hand with the Crossplane CoC, DevOps & SRE and Automation teams so that new capabilities are onboarded into the platform as self-service — with no handover cliff and no lock-in.

Ready to embark on the journey? Here’s what we are looking for:

As a Platform Architect, having hands-on experience designing enterprise-scale infrastructure platforms or internal developer platforms is a huge plus. Very good knowledge of platform-as-a-product operating models, control-plane design (Crossplane) and architecture governance (ADRs, gate reviews, design authority) will also be an integral part of this role.

You are a technology aficionado, therefore you have a good understanding of cloud-native architectures and infrastructure-as-code (Kubernetes, Crossplane, Git, Argo CD), policy-as-code (OPA, Kyverno) and modern observability standards such as OpenTelemetry, Grafana and Prometheus. You are able to work independently, prioritize and organize your tasks under time and workload pressure. Working in a multinational environment, you can expect cross-region collaboration with teams around the globe, thus being advanced in spoken and written English will be certainly useful.

An array of benefits for you:

  • Hybrid work arrangements to balance in-office collaboration and home flexibility.
  • Outpatient (unlimited) and inpatient medical coverage for employees.
  • Personalized flexi benefit plan for you and your family.
  • Choose any day off from earned public holidays, including Saturdays and ad-hoc holidays to spend with your loved ones.
  • Modern offices with free parking space.

Great Team

Hi, my name is Amitabh and I’m the Head of Infrastructure Platform Services (IPS). I started my career at DHL IT Services back in 2011, when I took a role as Manager of the Global Rating Engine team. Gaining more hands-on experience with Finance, Billing & Rating has always fascinated me, so I moved to the Head of Sub Domain, Rating & HR role. From there, I moved fast through the company ladder — Head of Domain, System Integration, Express Solution, and later ITS Solutions Consulting Director. In 2026, I took on my current role as Head of Infrastructure Platform Services. Together with the strong support of a multinational & diverse team, we are working on our common ambition — build right things and build things right for Private Cloud 2.0. Looking forward to having you onboard!
