Platform Engineer / 1

Summary

Maintains and modernizes Linux-based server environments, automates tasks with scripting, and troubleshoots networking and containerized systems in a hybrid office setup.

We are seeking a Platform Engineer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for setting up and maintaining environments, collaborating with developers to resolve issues, executing modernization tasks, and debugging low-level problems.

Key responsibilities:

  • Setting up new and maintaining existing environments,
  • Collaborating with developers on resolving issues,
  • Executing modernization tasks,
  • Debugging low-level problems,
  • Working with documentation,
  • Improving existing and preparing new processes,
  • Automating repeatable tasks with scripts,
  • Participating in rotated on-call activities.

Must have requirements:

  • Proficiency in Linux operating systems,
  • Strong scripting skills with Bash,
  • Experience with version control systems, particularly Git,
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet or Ansible,
  • In-depth knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, and BGP,
  • Experience with containerization and bare metal servers, including tools like Tomcat and Nginx,
  • Expertise in high availability systems, including HAProxy and IPVS,
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills,
  • Ability to work with and create comprehensive documentation,
  • Fluent communication skills in English and Polish (minimum B2 level), both written and spoken.

Nice to have requirements:

  • RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) certifications,
  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) certifications,
  • LPIC-2 (Linux Professional Institute Certification) certifications,
  • Proficiency in Perl or Python scripting languages,
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Prometheus and Grafana,
  • Familiarity with ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana) for logs and traces,
  • Experience with GitLab CI for continuous integration and deployment,
  • Knowledge of alerting and monitoring tools like Alertmanager and Check_MK,
  • Experience with databases such as MariaDB and Redis.

Hybrid work model: 3 days from the office, 2 days of home office.

Office locations: Warszawa, Lublin, Poznań
