Platform Engineer
Summary
Builds and maintains an enterprise AI platform’s cloud infrastructure, automating deployments (Kubernetes, Terraform) and ensuring secure, scalable operations across AWS/GCP/Azure/OpenShift for large customers.
About the Role
We're a Berlin-based enterprise AI platform startup (51–200 employees, early-stage funded) helping organizations safely and flexibly scale AI adoption across their entire workforce. Our platform is model-agnostic, security-first, and supports deployments ranging from cloud to on-premise for large enterprise customers.
We're looking for a Platform Engineer to join us on-site in Berlin and help build and maintain the backbone of our enterprise platform. You'll drive deployment, automation, and secure operations across customer cloud environments, and partner closely with customer IT teams to enable scalable, compliant AI rollouts.

Language requirement: Native-level German or B2 proficiency is required for customer communications.
What You'll Do
Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment
Deploy and maintain the platform across multiple customer cloud environments (GCP, AWS, Azure, OpenShift)
Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code tools (Terraform, Bicep)
Monitor and optimize application performance and infrastructure costs
Ensure security and compliance across diverse cloud environments
Collaborate with Product Engineers to support new feature deployments
Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues
Document deployment processes and maintain runbooks for different environments
What We're Looking For
Must-haves:
3+ years of software engineering experience with hands-on platform engineering responsibilities
Native-level German or B2 proficiency (written and spoken) for customer-facing communication
Experience deploying and operating enterprise platforms across Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or OpenShift
Proven experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Azure Container Apps, and GitHub Actions
Experience with PostgreSQL and Redis in production environments
Hands-on experience automating infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and/or Bicep
Experience with monitoring, observability, and cloud cost optimization
Ability to document deployment processes and maintain clear, actionable runbooks
Strong CS fundamentals and a security-conscious approach to cloud deployments
Nice to have:
Experience working directly with enterprise customer IT teams
Background in compliance-sensitive or regulated enterprise environments
Familiarity with on-premise or hybrid deployment models
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: €75,000 – €120,000 per year, depending on experience

This is a fully on-site role based in Berlin, Germany. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Berlin.
