Platform Engineer

Summary

The Platform Engineer will manage and scale an enterprise AI platform by automating CI/CD pipelines, provisioning infrastructure via Terraform, and ensuring security across multi-cloud environments. The role requires strong cloud operations experience and German language proficiency to support customer IT teams.

About the Role

As a Platform Engineer, you'll build and maintain the backbone of an enterprise AI platform that helps large organisations safely adopt and scale AI across their entire workforce. Working closely with both Product Engineers and customer IT teams, you'll drive deployment automation, cloud operations, and security across diverse customer environments — a critical function for a fast-growing B2B AI SaaS company.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, building, and deployment.

  • Deploy and maintain the platform across multiple customer cloud environments, including GCP, AWS, Azure, and OpenShift.

  • Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform and Bicep.

  • Monitor and optimise application performance and cloud infrastructure costs.

  • Ensure security and compliance standards are met across all cloud environments.

  • Collaborate with Product Engineers to support smooth rollouts of new features.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and deployment issues as they arise.

  • Document deployment processes and maintain up-to-date runbooks for each environment.

What We're Looking For

  • 3+ years of software engineering experience, with hands-on platform or infrastructure engineering work.

  • Proven experience deploying and operating an enterprise platform across Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or OpenShift.

  • Proficiency with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Azure Container Apps, and GitHub Actions.

  • Experience working with PostgreSQL and Redis in production environments.

  • Track record of automating infrastructure provisioning using Terraform and/or Bicep.

  • Experience with monitoring, observability, and cost optimisation for cloud platforms.

  • Ability to document deployment processes and maintain operational runbooks.

  • Strong CS fundamentals and a solid understanding of security best practices for cloud deployments.

  • Native-level German or at least B2 proficiency — required for direct communication with customer IT teams.
