Summary
Hebbia is hiring a Platform Engineer for its Document Intelligence team to build and scale distributed systems for high-scale document indexing and search. Day to day, the engineer optimizes latency and throughput across millions of documents using Python/Java/Go, AWS, and tools like Kafka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and Redis, while mentoring junior engineers.
You will build and scale core distributed systems for document indexing and search. You will turn complex requirements into robust solutions, optimize performance and throughput, and provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Own and scale critical system components
- Build and iterate on a high-scale document indexing system
- Architect and implement performance-tuning solutions
- Minimize latency and maximize throughput across millions of documents
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior engineers
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field
- 5+ years of software development experience focused on distributed systems and platform engineering
- Proficiency with Python, Java, or Go
- Knowledge of scalable system design, performance optimization, and resilience engineering
- Experience with AWS
- Experience with Kafka, Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, or Redis
- Knowledge of Airflow, Temporal, or Prefect
- Experience with observability patterns
- Experience leading software development projects
