DESCRIPTION
We're looking for a Platform Engineer III to join our Cloud Platform Infrastructure team, the group responsible for keeping our innovative systems fast, reliable, scalable, and secure. In this role, you will assist in building, shaping, and optimizing the critically important infrastructure that underpins a variety of Sinch products. You'll work closely with engineering teams to drive improvements, automate workflows, and ensure our systems meet the highest reliability standards.

Your Impact & Responsibilities
Collaborate with other teams to define and implement system requirements.
Design, build, and maintain cloud-based microservice infrastructure.
Automate routine operational tasks and remediation processes to improve efficiency and reliability.
Proactively identify and resolve issues, collaborate with support teams, other engineering teams, and use monitoring tools to ensure system health.
Ensure that datastores operate efficiently and meet performance and availability goals.
Plan and execute strategies to dynamically scale systems and infrastructure to match customer demand.
REQUIREMENTS
Strong background in cloud infrastructure and/or software engineering.
Extensive experience working with cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure.
Expertise with containers and Kubernetes, including cluster management, security, autoscaling, deployment strategies, custom resource definitions, etc.
Proficiency in using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform to manage infrastructure creation and improvements.
Hands-on experience with modern monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, and similar technologies.
Proven experience with various types of databases such MySQL, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, etc.
Familiarity with queue based processing and event workflows.
Strong coding skills in at least one modern programming language (Python, NodeJS, Java, etc.).
Experience in running and maintaining production systems in a Linux environment and public cloud infrastructure.
Demonstrated expertise in architecting solutions for complex technical challenges, and the ability to lead initiatives from conception through to execution.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a history of building effective relationships with cross-functional teams.
Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
Preferred
Deep understanding of Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and other telephony patterns.
Knowledge of open source telecommunications software, such as OpenSIPS and FreeSWITCH.
This is a remote opportunity, but candidates must reside near one of our hub locations for occasional collaboration: Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; San Antonio, TX; Denver, CO

The annual starting salary for this position is between $100,000 - $150,000. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications.
