Platform Engineer

The Platform Engineer will design, implement, and maintain Azure-based cloud infrastructure, focusing on automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes management. We are seeking a forward-thinking Azure Platform Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a Platform Engineer, you will be a key player in designing, implementing, and maintaining cutting-edge Azure-based solutions.

The successful candidate will be working within the IT Operations realm to support, develop and secure our cloud infrastructure, services, and solutions.   • Write, maintain and improve Bicep Infrastructure as Code, YAML deployment configurations and automated CI/CD pipelines.
  • Debug production issues, investigate root causes and work with teams to resolve problems quickly and safely.
  • Manage Azure Active Directory, identity and access, and Azure networking including VNets, subnets, ExpressRoute and VPNs.
  • Work within change and release procedures to ensure deployments are planned, tested and completed safely.
  • Work closely with development teams across the cloud landscape to make the platform reliable, practical and easy to use.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience supporting and operating production workloads on AKS and Kubernetes.
  • Able to apply identity, access control and policy requirements, including RBAC, PIM and Conditional Access, as part of day-to-day engineering.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines to keep services automated, measurable and reliable.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana.
  • Experience with Jira automation.
  • Experience with agile delivery methodologies (e.g., SCRUM or Kanban).
