Summary
A platform engineer builds and maintains self-service internal platforms on Kubernetes or VM-based infrastructure, automating environment lifecycle (deployments, patching, scaling) and embedding observability, security, and resilience. Core stack: Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD, Ansible, GitOps.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain self-service platforms on Kubernetes or VM-based infrastructure
- Automate lifecycle management of environments (deployments, patching, scaling)
- Define and deliver reusable deployment patterns for internal teams
- Embed observability, security and resilience into platform foundations
Must-have:
- Strong experience with Kubernetes in production environments
- Proficiency with Helm, ArgoCD, Ansible or similar tools
- Ability to support multi-tenant environments with minimal ops friction
- Excellent debugging and performance tuning skills
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with Backstage, Crossplane, or platform frameworks
- GitOps experience with ArgoCD or Flux
- CKA or other Kubernetes-related certification
