Platform Engineer

Build, secure and support technology that operates in some of the world’s toughest environments.

VERIDAPT is looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team, based in Manila, Philippines.

This is a hybrid role, giving you the flexibility to work from home while still connecting with the team in person at company events.

Your role will be to keep AdaptIQ and VERIDAPT’s global IoT fleet secure, reliable and performing at its best. You’ll solve complex production challenges, strengthen our infrastructure and security, and help raise the technical capability of the wider engineering team.

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is comfortable operating across cloud infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, networking, databases, security and IoT fleet operations rather than working within one narrow specialisation.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll take ownership across a broad technical environment, including:

  • Managing and evolving our cloud infrastructure across AWS and Vultr

  • Leading infrastructure migrations, including on-premise to SaaS and database upgrades

  • Owning production incidents end-to-end, including SaaS outages, connectivity issues and database incidents

  • Participating in the PagerDuty on-call rotation and contributing to post-incident reviews

  • Administering PostgreSQL environments, including replication, backups, migrations and performance tuning

  • Managing network and security infrastructure including OPNsense/MikroTik firewalls, WireGuard, Netbird and IPSec VPNs

  • Supporting vulnerability management, SIEM monitoring and security incident response

  • Provisioning, upgrading and troubleshooting IoT devices deployed at remote customer sites

  • Building and maintaining automation using Ansible and AWX

  • Improving monitoring and observability using tools such as Grafana, Graylog/VictoriaLogs, Zabbix and LogicMonitor

  • Running scheduled SaaS maintenance windows and working directly with customer IT teams

  • Reviewing peers’ work, improving runbooks and mentoring other engineers

The role spans cloud infrastructure, incident response, PostgreSQL, networking and security, IoT fleet operations, monitoring, automation and customer-facing technical work.

What we’re looking for

You’ll ideally bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, Cloud Infrastructure or Systems Engineering

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS infrastructure, networking and production environments

  • Advanced Linux systems administration capability

  • Strong Infrastructure as Code and automation experience, particularly Ansible/AWX

  • Strong PostgreSQL administration experience, including backups, replication, migrations and performance tuning

  • Solid networking knowledge across VPNs, firewalls, DNS, routing and IP networking

  • Experience with monitoring, logging and observability platforms

  • Demonstrated experience managing production incidents and troubleshooting complex systems

  • Practical cybersecurity, vulnerability management and security incident-response experience

  • Strong scripting capability, ideally Python, Bash or similar

  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to work directly with customers and mentor other engineers

Highly regarded

Experience or qualifications in any of the following would be advantageous:

  • Industrial IoT, mining, rail, energy or operational technology environments

  • AWS certifications

  • Red Hat / Linux certifications

  • Ansible automation certifications

  • Networking or cybersecurity certifications

  • Degree qualifications in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or a related discipline

Why VERIDAPT?

At VERIDAPT, you’ll work on technology that supports customers operating across industrial environments around the world. You’ll join a collaborative engineering team where you can have genuine ownership, solve complex technical problems and directly influence the reliability and security of our platform.

Our values guide how we work: Innovate with Purpose, Tenacity to Power Through, Collaborate to Succeed and Trust Through Action.

The benefits

  • 6-month contract

  • Based in Manila, Philippines

  • Hybrid working arrangement - No regular travel required, with only ad hoc travel for team meetings or company events

If you’re an experienced Platform Engineer who enjoys getting hands-on across infrastructure, automation, security and production systems, we’d love to hear from you.
