Platform Engineer – Workplace & Endpoint Services

Job Description:

  • Workplace & Endpoint Services to support, maintain and optimize enterprise workplace and endpoint platforms across customer environments.
  • Responsible for managing and supporting Microsoft-based endpoint platforms, device management, workplace technologies and endpoint security solutions.
  • The role will work closely with customers, technical teams and the Sales organization to ensure reliable and secure workplace environments.
  • The Platform Engineer will also provide technical expertise during customer engagements, solution discussions, demonstrations and pre-sales activities, helping customers identify appropriate workplace and endpoint solutions.

Platform Engineering & Workplace Services:

  • Manage, support and maintain enterprise workplace and endpoint platforms across customer environments.
  • Administer and support Microsoft Windows 10/11 endpoint environments.
  • Manage endpoint configuration, deployment, software distribution, patching and upgrades.
  • Support and administer Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager environments.
  • Support Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory), Active Directory and related identity services.
  • Manage and support SCCM/MECM for enterprise device management and software deployment.
  • Support Microsoft 365 applications and workplace productivity technologies.
  • Configure and maintain endpoint security policies and security solutions.
  • Perform endpoint health checks, monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure platform availability, performance and security.
  • Implement and maintain standard endpoint configurations, policies and security baselines.
  • Support device lifecycle management, including provisioning, deployment, configuration, replacement and retirement.
  • Assist with operating system upgrades, patch management and application deployment activities.
  • Troubleshoot endpoint, application, connectivity, VPN, wireless and access-related issues.
  • Work with infrastructure, network, security and application teams to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Maintain technical documentation, configuration records, support procedures and knowledge articles.
  • Identify opportunities to improve endpoint performance, security, automation and user experience.

Technical Support & Service Delivery:

  • Provide onsite and remote technical support for desktops, laptops, workstations, mobile devices, printers and peripherals.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, operating system, software and application-related issues.
  • Investigate and resolve incidents and service requests within agreed SLAs.
  • Coordinate hardware replacement, warranty and break-fix activities where required.
  • Monitor recurring issues and identify opportunities for problem management and continuous improvement.
  • Escalate complex issues to relevant L2/L3 infrastructure, security or application teams while maintaining ownership through resolution.
  • Participate in scheduled maintenance, deployment and migration activities.

Customer Engagement:

  • Act as a technical point of contact for assigned customer environments.
  • Build strong working relationships with customer IT teams and key stakeholders.
  • Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate workplace and endpoint solutions.
  • Conduct regular environment health checks and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide technical updates, incident status and recommendations to customers.
  • Maintain a strong customer-service mindset and ensure high customer satisfaction.
  • Support multiple customer environments and engagements simultaneously.

Pre-Sales & Solution Support:

  • Partner with Sales teams during customer meetings, presentations and technical discussions.
  • Understand customer business and technical requirements and translate them into appropriate workplace and endpoint solutions.
  • Support preparation of technical proposals, solution designs, presentations and demonstrations.
  • Provide technical input for RFP/RFI and solutioning activities.
  • Conduct product and solution demonstrations relating to endpoint management, workplace services and Microsoft technologies.
  • Act as a technical advisor during the sales cycle and support the identification of opportunities for additional services and solutions.
  • Work with internal technical teams and vendors to develop appropriate solutions based on customer requirements.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in platform engineering, endpoint engineering, workplace services, desktop engineering or enterprise IT support.
  • Strong hands-on experience supporting enterprise Microsoft-based workplace and endpoint environments.
  • Experience with enterprise device deployment, configuration and lifecycle management.
  • Experience with software packaging, patch management and operating system upgrades.
  • Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN and wireless technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with enterprise customers and technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple customer environments or engagements.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
