Summary
The Platform Engineering Manager will architect and lead the implementation of scalable, cloud-native, and hybrid platforms using Kubernetes, AWS, and various data and messaging technologies. This role requires a balance of high-level architectural design and hands-on technical execution in CI/CD, security, and infrastructure automation.
Responsibilities:
- Architect and design scalable, resilient, and extensible cloud‑native and hybrid platforms that support all layers of enterprise software components.
- Define reference architectures, design principles, and technology standards for microservices, container platforms, messaging, data platforms, and integration layers.
- Provide hands‑on leadership in building and evolving Kubernetes‑based platforms (AWS EKS/ECS and on‑premises), including Helm‑based deployments and platform automation.
- Design and implement event‑driven and messaging architectures using Apache Kafka (KRaft) and RabbitMQ to enable loosely coupled, high‑performance systems.
- Own platform architecture decisions related to availability, scalability, disaster recovery, performance, and observability.
- Architect and implement CI/CD strategies using Jenkins, ArgoCD, or GitLab, ensuring alignment with deployment patterns and platform governance.
- Design secure platform architectures, implementing OAuth 2.0, JWT, and enterprise SSO integrations (Keycloak, Ping, Oracle IDMS) with hands‑on configuration and integration.
- Define and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) patterns using Terraform, Ansible, or equivalent tools, ensuring reproducibility and operational excellence.
- Architect database and data service platforms, including PostgreSQL clustering, MSSQL, and MongoDB, with hands‑on involvement in performance and availability design.
- Collaborate closely with application, security, and network teams to ensure architectural alignment and end‑to‑end solution coherence.
- Act as a technical authority for platform troubleshooting, performing deep hands‑on analysis across microservices, container platforms, and supporting infrastructure.
- Continuously evaluate and evolve platform architecture to support future scalability, technology upgrades, and emerging business requirements.
Requirement:
- Bachelor of Computer Science with 4 to 6 years Proven experience architecting and hands‑on implementing Kubernetes‑based platforms using Docker and Helm, supporting large‑scale microservices environments.
- Strong expertise in cloud and hybrid architecture design, with hands‑on experience across AWS services and on‑premises virtualization using VMware ESXi and vSphere.
- Deep understanding of DevOps and CI/CD architecture, with practical experience designing and implementing pipelines using Jenkins, ArgoCD, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Hands‑on architectural and operational experience with event‑driven and messaging platforms, including Apache Kafka and RabbitMQ, and their integration into enterprise systems.
- Strong background in data platform architecture, with hands‑on experience managing PostgreSQL (including clustering), Microsoft SQL Server, and MongoDB.
- Expertise in security and identity architecture, including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and enterprise Single Sign‑On (SSO) integrations using Keycloak, Ping, or Oracle IDMS.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and configuration management, using Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or equivalent tools to define and govern platform landscapes.
- Strong programming and automation skills in Python, Shell, and Java, with the ability to implement architectural patterns through code.
- Ability to balance architecture governance with hands‑on delivery, driving solutions from design through implementation and operational support.
