Platform Engineering Manager
Summary
Leads Oxylabs' Platform team (Observability/Data) of ~2-3 engineers in Vilnius, staying hands-on as a working Tech Lead while owning hiring, mentoring, capacity planning, and delivery. Works with large-scale infrastructure (60PB+ monthly traffic) built on Ceph, Kafka, Clickhouse, and modern observability tooling.

In this role, you’ll:
- Lead Platform team responsible for Observability/Data area and keep delivery consistent.
- Own people leadership: hire, mentor, and develop engineers; keep the team healthy and performing.
- Manage capacity, risk, and dependencies: plan realistically, unblock fast, and handle escalations early.
- Align scope and priorities with the Director of Infrastructure (DoI): keep stakeholders aligned and avoid churn.
- Stay hands-on as a working Tech Lead: with a team of around 2-3 engineers, you'll carry part of the technical lead role alongside management.
Your skills & experience:
- Proven experience leading an engineering team under one of given roles (Team Lead, Squad Lead, Tech Lead).
- Strong stakeholder management: can translate business needs into a clear plan and keep people aligned.
- Pragmatic, ownership-driven mindset: can make trade-offs, push standards, and improve reliability without slowing the team down.
- Solid technical foundation: hands-on experience with technologies such as MySQL, Kafka/Redpanda, Redis/Valkey, Clickhouse, Victoria Metrics, ElasticSearch, Grafana, Prometheus, or similar.
