Platform Fullstack Engineer (m/f/d)
Join us and contribute to digital sovereignty in Europe. With us, you will work at the intersection of agility and security: You will benefit from fast decision-making processes, enjoy genuine creative freedom in your projects, and be able to build upon the stable foundation of the Schwarz Group.
Your Profile
- "Developer First" Mindset & Sensitivity to Developer Experience (DevEx):
- Understands that their primary users are dozens of software engineers across internal squads. Listens, understands, discusses, and prioritizes developer needs within product and technical contexts.
- Designs APIs, boilerplates, and platform solutions focused on reducing cognitive load, abstracting infrastructure complexity, and enabling team autonomy.
- "Platform Engineering" Vision:
- Investigates developer pain points across squads and delivers high-value self-service capabilities.
- Automates platform processes and provides clear, comprehensive documentation.
- Hands-On Approach & Pragmatism:
- Delivers practical, value-driven engineering solutions. Enjoys solving real operational bottlenecks while avoiding unnecessary abstractions or over-engineering.
- Communication & Autonomy:
- Communicates architectural decisions effectively, leads internal technical workshops, and writes high-quality integration guides.
- Proactively identifies bottlenecks in developer workflows and tools, implementing quick wins without requiring micromanagement.
Your Skills
- Backend & Integration Ecosystem:
- Node.js & TypeScript (Portal Extension): Proficiency in Node.js and TypeScript tailored specifically for governing, building, and extending our Developer Portal (Backstage backend plugins, custom integrations, catalog processors, and Scaffolder actions).
- .NET Ecosystem: Strong experience developing robust, scalable services using .NET Core / C#.
- API Design & Resilience: REST API design and consumption using resilience patterns (circuit breakers, retries, rate limiting) with libraries like Polly.
- Workflow & Event Orchestration: Experience with event-driven architecture, webhooks, or workflow engines (e.g., Temporal, Argo Workflows, KEDA) to handle long-running, asynchronous infrastructure tasks and reliably interact with external APIs.
- Frontend Ecosystem:
- Core Frameworks: Advanced knowledge of React and TypeScript for building modular, high-performance portal interfaces and custom Backstage UI plugins.
- UX for Developers: Ability to translate complex infrastructure workflows into intuitive, low-friction user interfaces for engineering teams.
- Containers & Orchestration:
- Docker: Hands-on experience with container management, image optimization (multi-stage builds), and container security.
- Kubernetes (K8s): Experience deploying, managing, and orchestrating applications in Kubernetes clusters (deployments, services, ingresses, configmaps).
- CI/CD & GitOps:
- CI Pipelines: Building and managing Continuous Integration pipelines for automated builds, testing (unit/integration), static code analysis, and container registry management (Harbor).
- GitOps & Delivery: Practical experience with GitOps workflows and Continuous Delivery, preferably using ArgoCD.
- Nice-to-Have:
- Platform Engineering, IDPs & Control Planes:
- Internal Developer Platforms & Control Planes: Experience with tools like Crossplane, Humanitec, Kratix, or custom Kubernetes Operators/CRDs for infrastructure provisioning and abstraction.
- Backstage Ecosystem: Advanced experience building custom Backstage templates and integrating complex software catalog structures.
- Configuration Management: Familiarity with Helm, Kustomize, or declarative configuration tools for managing application environments.
- Cloud Computing & Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Cloud Platforms (GCP/Multicloud): Knowledge and practical experience with Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud Run, IAM, Secret Manager) or cross-cloud migration projects (Azure to GCP).
- Terraform / OpenTofu: Experience provisioning and automating cloud infrastructure using IaC.
- Observability & Telemetry: Familiarity with OpenTelemetry standards and building/querying observability dashboards using the Grafana Stack (Prometheus, Loki, Tempo).
- AI-Assisted Development: Interest or experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools (Gemini, Copilot, Cursor) to automate platform and workflow tasks.
We look forward to receiving your application.
