The Job

About the team
The Platform Reliability Team (PRT) helps keep our production systems secure, reliable, and ready to grow. We’re a small team, so engineers take ownership of their work and contribute across several areas—from reducing risk and improving reliability to building new platform capabilities.
What the team does

Security

• Secure our cloud accounts and Kubernetes clusters by managing access, network policies, and secrets.
• Find and fix vulnerabilities in our infrastructure, container images, and software dependencies.

Reliability and risk reduction

• Plan capacity and test system performance before high-traffic periods and seasonal peaks.
• Maintain and test backups, disaster recovery, and failover plans.
• Find and address single points of failure.

Platform improvements

• Set and track service level indicators (SLIs) and objectives (SLOs), using error budgets to help balance reliability with the pace of change.
• Build and automate scalable, fault-tolerant infrastructure on AWS and GCP using

Infrastructure as Code.

• Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Automate routine work to reduce manual effort.
• Improve monitoring and alerts so teams can spot problems early and focus on alerts that need action.
• Track and optimize cloud costs.

Research and new capabilities

• Assess and introduce tools that can improve how we build and operate the platform, including GitOps, distributed tracing, and AI-assisted operations.

Your Skills and Experience

Your Skills and Experience
Must-have

• 1+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering, supporting production workloads.
• Hands-on experience operating Kubernetes in production, including cluster management, upgrades, and troubleshooting. Experience with EKS or GKE is preferred.
• Practical experience provisioning and managing resources in AWS or GCP. Familiarity with the other cloud provider is a plus.
• Experience using Terraform for Infrastructure as Code and managing CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience configuring and using observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK Stack.
• Working knowledge of cloud security, scalability, and cost optimization.
• Ability to write Bash and Python scripts to automate operational tasks and configuration management.
• Professional spoken and written English, including for incident communications and technical documentation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with GitOps tools such as Argo CD.
• Familiarity with distributed tracing tools and standards such as OpenTelemetry.
• Ability to write or maintain services and tools in Go.
• Experience supporting high-traffic systems or services with seasonal demand spikes, such as e-commerce or fintech platforms.
• Experience working in a startup or other fast-paced environment.
