Platform/system engineer (Databricks) - Data platform backend
Summary
Platform engineer in BEC's Data Enablement division, operating and maintaining the Databricks and Informatica PowerCenter platforms, handling incidents, and driving the BI datawarehouse migration from on-prem Netezza to cloud (AWS). Hybrid role on a 16-person team split between Denmark and Poland, with up to 8 remote days/month.
You will join our Data Enablement division. The domain oversees Business Intelligence tools and platforms.
The platform engineer offers the opportunity to work with Databricks and to be part of our cloud transition for BEC's Business Intelligence Datawarehouse. The team consists of 16 people, with 4 based in Denmark and 12 in Poland. The team is currently working on a project, focusing on the migration from Netezza to Databricks. At BEC, we prefer to collaborate often in the office, but we also keep the opportunity to work remotely up to 8 days per month.
Your direct manager will be Nicolai Johansen.
Primary task and responsibilities include:
- Actively taking part in Datawarehouse transition from on-premises to cloud.
- Operations and maintenance of Databricks.
- Operations and maintenance of Informatica PowerCenter platform.
- Incident handling.
- Participating in optimizing existing solutions.
- Ensuring stability on platforms within ownership.
- Supporting BI teams.
To succeed you will have:
- Documented experience within cloud technology (preferable Databricks).
- Experience within cloud infrastructure (preferable AWS).
- Infrastructure knowledge (cluster, networking, storage).
- A curious mind with an open nature and desire to knowledge-share with others.
It’s nice-to-have:
- Experience with coding (Preferable PowerShell, Terraform, Python and SQL)
- Business Intelligence knowledge.
- Documented experience within server and application administration for PowerCenter, CDI-PWC, IDMC, or similar.
