This is more than a technical leadership role. It's an opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology decisions, build high-performing engineering teams, drive platform excellence and help deliver strategic outcomes across a purpose-led organisation.

If you're passionate about engineering leadership, modern cloud platforms and building technology that makes a real difference, we'd love to hear from you.

Why this role?

You'll lead the engineering function responsible for some of GMHBA's most critical technology platforms, including:

  • Azure Application Platform Services
  • Azure DevOps
  • Azure Integration Services
  • Auth0 Customer Identity
  • Dynamics 365
  • Dataverse & Power Platform

You'll be trusted to set engineering standards, shape platform roadmaps, influence strategic technology investments and lead a team delivering secure, scalable and resilient platforms across the enterprise.

What you'll do

  • Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, mentoring specialists across cloud, DevOps, integration, identity and business applications while building capability for the future.
  • Own the strategy, health and evolution of critical enterprise platforms, ensuring they remain secure, resilient, scalable and aligned to business objectives.
  • Drive engineering excellence through best practice in DevOps, CI/CD, observability, release management, platform reliability and technical governance.
  • Provide strategic technology leadership, partnering with senior stakeholders to shape platform roadmaps, manage risks and guide key investment decisions.
  • Represent Enterprise Applications in technology governance forums, including the IT Change Advisory Board (CAB), to ensure changes are assessed, prioritised and delivered safely.
  • Partner with leading technology providers and delivery partners, including Microsoft and Okta, to maximise platform performance, innovation and value while maintaining quality and supportability.
  • Champion continuous improvement, promoting automation, reusable engineering patterns, knowledge sharing and modern ways of working across the technology function.
  • Balance engineering capacity and priorities, ensuring resources are effectively aligned across operational support, lifecycle management, regulatory commitments and strategic initiatives.

About you

You're a respected technology leader who combines strong people leadership with broad technical expertise and commercial awareness.

You'll bring:

  • Extensive experience leading engineering, cloud, application, DevOps or integration teams in a complex enterprise environment
  • Strong knowledge of Azure platforms, application engineering, identity and access management, integration services and modern DevOps practices
  • Experience establishing engineering standards, platform governance and operational excellence
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on leadership and delivery
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the confidence to influence decisions at senior levels
  • Experience managing vendors, suppliers and technology partners.

Bonus points if you have

  • Experience with Dynamics 365, Power Platform and Dataverse
  • Microsoft Azure, DevOps, D365 or Power Platform certifications
  • ITIL certification
  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as health, insurance, banking or financial services
  • Exposure to architecture review boards, security governance or enterprise change management frameworks
