Platforms Manager
Platforms Manager
About the Role
As Platforms Manager, you play a dual role: you are the primary point of contact for Mexico-based stakeholders, and you actively support the three senior Platforms Managers (Apps, MarTech, and Internal Systems) across the full delivery lifecycle.
This is a technical role. You will lead a dedicated lean squad comprising one Frontend Engineer, one Backend Engineer, and one QA Engineer, responsible for production support and Mexico platform delivery. You are expected to understand the technical landscape well enough to guide solutioning, make informed trade-off decisions, and lead your squad with clarity and direction.
This role operates on a 3:00 PM to 12:00 MN PHT shift to enable meaningful coverage of Mexico business hours while ensuring continuity of platform operations during PH off-peak hours.
You are not expected to own a platform portfolio independently from day one. Instead, you will build platform management depth by leading structured delivery work, owning your squad's execution, writing requirements, managing production issues, and developing relationships with both PH and MX stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Squad Leadership & Technical Direction
Lead a lean dedicated squad of one Frontend Engineer, one Backend Engineer, and one QA Engineer focused on production support and Mexico platform delivery.
Provide technical direction and context to your squad, ensuring they have clear requirements, well-defined acceptance criteria, and a good understanding of the business problems they are solving.
Participate in technical discussions, solutioning sessions, and architecture conversations with sufficient depth to make informed decisions and communicate trade-offs to stakeholders.
Own the squad's delivery rhythm: facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, standups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Monitor squad capacity, manage priorities across production support and MX delivery work, and escalate resourcing or dependency issues proactively.
Coordinate with the senior Platforms Managers and Engineering leads to ensure squad priorities are aligned with broader platform goals.
Mexico Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for Mexico-based business stakeholders and market teams.
Gather, consolidate, and document MX platform requirements, enhancement requests, support escalations, and feedback.
Ensure MX stakeholder concerns are clearly communicated to the appropriate Platforms Manager and tracked through to resolution.
Coordinate with PH-based teams to ensure MX market needs are represented in platform discussions, prioritization, and delivery planning.
Provide MX stakeholders with clear, timely updates on platform status, releases, and timelines.
Production Support
Own production support operations during the 3:00 PM to 12:00 MN PHT shift, leading your squad in triaging and resolving platform incidents.
Assess production issues with enough technical understanding to determine severity, identify the right resolution path, and coordinate appropriate responses.
Log, document, and track incidents through to full resolution, ensuring proper escalation and handoff procedures are followed.
Maintain visibility over open support tickets and enhancement backlogs, and proactively surface recurring issues or patterns to the relevant senior Platforms Manager.
Ensure production incidents are properly documented, communicated, and followed up on with stakeholders.
Requirements & Documentation Support
Work with the senior Platforms Managers to draft Platform Requirements Documents (PRDs), user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and process flows for platform initiatives across Apps, MarTech, and Internal Systems.
Translate stakeholder inputs, feedback sessions, and business discussions into structured, technically informed, delivery-ready documentation.
Support Sprint 0 activities by helping consolidate requirements, documenting open questions, and coordinating pre-development alignment across teams.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for workstreams, release notes, platform changes, and stakeholder decisions.
Workstream & Delivery Support
Track active delivery workstreams across the platform teams, maintaining visibility on task progress, blockers, and upcoming milestones.
Coordinate logistics for sprint ceremonies, stakeholder reviews, UAT sessions, and release activities as directed by the senior Platforms Managers.
Monitor and follow up on open action items, dependencies, and delivery commitments on behalf of the Platforms Managers.
Surface delivery risks, blockers, and progress gaps early so the team can address them proactively.
Support UAT coordination and release validation activities when required.
What Success Looks Like
A successful Platforms Manager (Associate) runs a tight, reliable squad. Production issues are handled with urgency, discipline, and the right technical judgment. Mexico stakeholders feel represented and informed. The senior Platforms Managers can rely on clean documentation, workstream visibility, and a squad that executes consistently. Over time, this person develops the platform depth, technical fluency, and stakeholder relationships to take on greater platform ownership as the Mexico portfolio and production demands grow.
What We're Looking For
2 to 4 years of experience in a product management, technical project management, or platform operations role, with meaningful exposure to software development environments.
Solid technical foundation: you don't need to write code, but you should be comfortable reading technical documentation, participating in architecture discussions, understanding APIs and system integrations, and translating technical constraints into business language.
Experience leading or coordinating a small cross-functional delivery team.
Strong written communication skills; able to produce clear, structured documentation without heavy supervision.
Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable managing multiple open items simultaneously, including concurrent production issues and delivery workstreams.
Comfortable working independently during the 3:00 PM to 12:00 MN PHT shift.
Exposure to agile delivery practices (sprint planning, backlogs, user stories, sprint ceremonies) is required.
