Play Group Asst

What You’ll Do:

The Playgroup Assistant supports the Early Intervention Program by providing child supervision, engagement, and childcare support during playgroups. This role contributes to a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment for young children and families.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide supervision and engage enrolled children during playgroups under the direction of the Playgroup Leader.
  • Assist with the setup and cleanup of playgroup activities before and after each session.
  • Maintain a clean, organized environment in accordance with EEC cleaning and sanitization standards.
  • Change diapers and attend to the personal care needs of children as required.
  • Read to children and participate in age-appropriate activities that support learning and development.
  • Support a positive, welcoming atmosphere for children and families participating in the program.

Who You Are:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in an early childhood setting preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of behavior management experience preferred.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification preferred; training will be provided for the selected candidate as needed.
  • Bilingual skills are preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and child engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a supportive and family-centered environment.
