PLC/Automation Engineer (Siemens TIA Portal)

We are looking for a PLC/Automation Engineer to join a long-term project for a German industrial client. You'll develop and maintain control software for production equipment, working with Siemens PLCs and industrial automation systems. Occasional on-site visits to Germany may be required for commissioning.
What you'll do:

  • Develop and maintain PLC programs in Siemens TIA Portal (Step 7, WinCC)
  • Configure and maintain SCADA/HMI systems for production monitoring
  • Work with field devices, sensors and industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA)
  • Support commissioning and testing of automated production lines
  • Debug and troubleshoot issues in live industrial environments
  • Collaborate with mechanical and electrical engineers on system integration

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in PLC programming or industrial automation
  • Hands-on experience with Siemens TIA Portal / Step 7 / SPS programming
  • Experience with SCADA/HMI systems (WinCC)
  • Understanding of industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Modbus, OPC UA)
  • Experience with real-time systems
  • English level C1, comfortable in daily communication with a German client
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for on-site commissioning

Nice to have:

  • Experience with multiple PLC vendors (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff)
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards (IEC 61508/61511)
  • Experience with robotics or motion control systems
