Plumbing Manager
Plumbing Manager — Climate Control
Liberty, MO
Climate Control is looking for a Plumbing Manager to lead and grow our plumbing department. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows the trade cold and knows how to build a team around it — hiring, training, holding standards, and driving the department's numbers.
You'll own the plumbing side of the business: the crew, the schedule, the quality of the work, and the results.
Responsibilities
Department Performance
- Exceed budgeted monthly gross profit dollars for the plumbing department
- Exceed monthly net new membership targets
- Maintain A/R below 5% of monthly plumbing revenue
- Track and manage department statistics including the 3-day call board, field conversion, average sale, tech-generated leads, and membership growth
- Ensure technicians consistently present good/better/best options to every customer
- Review and approve plumbing invoices, material and equipment expenses, and job costing
- Partner with branch leadership to build the monthly operational budget and hit branch objectives
- Review weekly payroll to manage overtime and ensure accuracy
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop the plumbing team — service plumbers, installers, and apprentices
- Conduct weekly technician ride-alongs using the standard ride-along form
- Hold monthly one-on-ones with each teammate against personal goals and scorecard
- Participate in the daily in-person huddle to review prior-day results and plan the next three days
- Run technical and sales training to build the team's skill set
- Handle hiring, training, performance documentation, and terminations; enforce the employee handbook consistently
- Participate in monthly staffing planning and block calendar time to interview candidates and move the hiring process forward
- Manage the on-call rotation and serve as escalation point for after-hours issues
Quality, Safety, and Customer Experience
- Review customer satisfaction and service issues daily and resolve same-day
- Own safety training, processes, and reporting; report every injury or accident to the General Manager immediately
- Enforce code compliance and permit requirements on every job
- Oversee truck stock, inventory, and material ordering
- Review and approve estimates on larger jobs
- Perform other duties as assigned
