PM Baking Supervisor
SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The PM Baking Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all second shift baking operations to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely production of high-quality baked goods that meet Company and customer standards. This position provides leadership to the baking team, oversees the operation of industrial tunnel and Gemini ovens, coordinates production schedules with other departments, and ensures compliance with all food safety, quality, and Company policies. The PM Baking Supervisor is responsible for driving productivity, minimizing waste, developing employees, and maintaining a positive, accountable work environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate and enforce General Bakery Safety, Food Safety, Food Defense, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HACCP, SOPs, and all Company quality standards.
- Supervise all PM baking operations, ensuring production schedules are met while maintaining product quality, consistency, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
- Oversee the operation of industrial tunnel and Gemini ovens, monitoring baking temperatures, humidity, baking times, steam injection, and other process controls to ensure products consistently meet Company specifications.
- Adjust baking processes and oven settings as needed to maintain proper product appearance, texture, internal temperature, and overall quality.
- Lead, coach, train, develop, and supervise Baking Associates, providing ongoing instruction, performance feedback, and accountability while promoting teamwork and a positive work environment.
- Coordinate daily production activities with Production, Packing, Shipping, Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of production requirements.
- Conduct regular inspections of ovens and baking equipment, identify operational concerns, coordinate maintenance needs, and troubleshoot production issues to minimize downtime.
- Monitor production yields, labor efficiency, product quality, waste, and downtime, implementing continuous improvement initiatives to increase productivity and reduce waste.
- Ensure accurate production records, baking logs, inventory documentation, and other required operational documentation are completed timely and accurately.
- Utilize the Company's HRIS (Paycom) to perform supervisory and administrative responsibilities including employee scheduling, timecard reconciliation, attendance management, approving time-off requests, maintaining employee records, completing performance evaluations, documenting coaching and corrective actions, issuing disciplinary actions, and partnering with Human Resources to ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels, assign work effectively, monitor employee performance throughout the shift, and make operational decisions necessary to meet daily production goals.
