PM Barista Attendant

A Barista Attendant is responsible for preparing, serving, and presenting a variety of hot and cold beverages, as well as related food items, while providing excellent customer service in a café or similar setting. Hours include 12:00 PM - 10:00 PM.

Core Responsibilities

Beverage Preparation & Service: Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, blended coffees, teas, and specialty cold beverages according to company recipes and standards

Food Service: Serve prepared items such as pastries, sandwiches, soups, and snacks when applicable

Customer Interaction: Greet customers warmly, present the menu, answer questions, and offer personalized recommendations based on preferences and dietary needs

Order Taking: Accurately take drink and food orders, noting customizations (e.g., coffee blend, sugar/dairy ratios)

Equipment Operation: Operate coffee-making equipment such as espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and milk from others

Sales & Payments: Use the point-of-sale system to process cash and credit card transactions .

Workspace Maintenance: Keep the bar area, seating area, and equipment clean, sanitized, and organized

Inventory & Restocking: Monitor and restock supplies like cups, lids, coffee beans, syrups, and pastries

Opening & Closing Duties: Assist with setup, cleaning, and inventory tasks during shift changes

Feedback & Suggestions: Communicate customer feedback to management and recommend new menu items
Skills & Qualifications

Strong customer service and interpersonal skills

Knowledge of espresso machines and brewing equipment

Ability to work various shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and holidays

Attention to detail in preparing drinks to exact specifications

Basic math skills for pricing and inventory

Understanding of health and safety regulations

High school diploma or equivalent; relevant training or experience preferred
Work Environment
Fast-paced, customer-facing role in a café or food service environment. Requires standing for long periods, lifting light items, and working in a potentially noisy setting.
