This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact within federal regulatory and policy environments, working directly with leadership and stakeholders to advance critical government objectives.

Policy Development

  • Conduct research and analysis to identify policy needs
  • Draft new policies and procedures that address identified needs
  • Review and revise existing policies to ensure they are current and effective
  • Ensure policies comply with federal regulations and guidelines

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather input and feedback on policy drafts
  • Facilitate meetings and discussions to ensure broad participation in the policy-making process
  • Communicate policy changes and updates to relevant parties

Policy Analysis

  • Analyze the impact of proposed policies on the agency and its operations
  • Assess the effectiveness of current policies and recommend improvements
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and risk assessments for proposed policy changes as necessary

Documentation and Reporting

  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on policy analysis and recommendations
  • Maintain comprehensive records of policy development activities and decisions
  • Ensure policy documentation is accurate, clear, and accessible

Compliance and Implementation

  • Monitor implementation of new and revised policies
  • Provide guidance and support to ensure policies are applied consistently across the agency
  • Evaluate effectiveness of policy implementation and recommend necessary adjustments

Requirements

Requirements

  • Minimum 7 years of experience analyzing policy requirements and drafting written policy in a federal environment required
  • Strong analytical skills required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities required
  • Deep understanding of the policy-making process within the federal government required
  • Ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across federal operational environments
  • DMV area/local candidates strongly preferred
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation
  • Ability to work onsite within the Washington, DC metropolitan area
