NPL now has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as an Officer – Administration – Mobile Administration (241503).
About the role
Reporting directly to the Supervisor - Mobile Administration, the Officer – Administration, Mobile Administrations, will play a key role in supporting the daily administrative operations of the Mobile Maintenance Department. This position is vital for ensuring accurate documentation, effective coordination across teams, and the smooth flow of communication, all while supporting NPL’s mobile maintenance activities.
Key Responsibilities
• Managing daily administrative tasks, including filing, scheduling, and organizing documentation related to mobile maintenance operations
• Maintaining up-to-date records of maintenance schedules, work orders, parts inventory, and service history within SAP (maintenance management system)
• Serving as a liaison between the maintenance team and other departments, coordinating resources, updating job statuses, and ensuring smooth communication across teams
• Preparing reports, tracking maintenance metrics, and compiling data to support maintenance operations
• Assisting in managing purchase orders, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating deliveries to ensure availability of necessary parts and supplies
• Ensuring compliance with NPL’s health, safety, and environmental policies by maintaining organized and accessible documentation
• Performing routine office tasks such as answering calls, responding to inquiries, and arranging meetings as requested by the supervisor
• Maintain a high level of health, safety and environmental awareness and comply with all relevant NPL policies & Procedures.
Qualifications and Experience
• Minimum of Grade 12 education or equivalent
• Certificate in Business Administration or related field (preferred)
• At least 2 years of experience in an administrative role, ideally in a maintenance, mining, or industrial setting
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of maintenance processes and experience with maintenance management systems is desirable
• Knowledge of maintenance processes and experience with maintenance management systems (SAP/Oracle) is desirable.
Mobilization Requirement
This is a National Local Staff position, a site-based role on a Walk in Walk out arrangement with rotation of 14 days on and 7 days off. Must successfully pass a pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening. This will be arranged only for successful candidates who progress after the interview stage and have an up-to-date Police Clearance Certificate (acquired within the last 6 months). Must be a Local Porgeran (Cat 1A – SML, Cat 1B –LMP or Cat 2 – Other Porgera) candidate and available to start immediately. Females are encouraged to apply.
