NPL has a vacancy for a qualified and experienced individual as Officer – Camps to join the Supply and Business Services Department under Business Services Section.
About the Role
Reporting to the Supervisor- Camps, the incumbent will be responsible for accommodation services as well as monitoring of contractors to ensure compliance in the delivery of catering, janitorial and related services to all eligible residents of Porgera camp facilities. This position includes collation of data and presentation of reports relevant to effective camp management.
Key Responsibilities:
The Officer – Camps will be required to:
• Monitor daily employee accommodation requirements, inclusive of general camp management and check-in and check-out activities.
• Use INX In-Flight System for the management of all accommodation data and reports
• Maintain stock control and inventory of all camp items and order as necessary
• Maintain Relocation Housing data base and assist Camp Supervisors with new occupants
• Conduct Housing/Camp inspection for maintenance requirements and clearance for going finish residents.
• Assist Camp Supervisor in monitoring daily catering menu, food safety requirements and kitchen audits
• Assist Camp Supervisor in monitoring costs, expenditures and seek efficient opportunities that will contribute to operating cost reductions
• Ensure timely & efficient turnaround of Contractor invoices
• Deliver ongoing level of customer service that will meet or exceed expectations in all dealings with external and internal customers
• Maintain a high level of health and safety awareness and comply with the NPL Occupational Health & Safety Policy and all health and safety rules and procedures
Qualifications & Experience
• Minimum grade 12 level education plus computer literate or above
• Tourism & Hospitality Management qualification would be an advantage
• Current driver’s license (Class 3/6) would be desirable
• Ability to work unsupervised and is trustworthy
• Minimum of 1 year experience in Catering and/or Camp Services
• Ability to work to critical deadlines and has awareness in cost management
• Ability to work on shift and on a 10/4 roster, work on weekends and odd hours
Mobilization Requirements
• All applicants must have an up-to-date police clearance certificate, obtained within the last 6 months
• Ability to successfully pass a pre - employment medical and drug and alcohol test
• Be a Local Porgeran (Cat 1 or Cat 2) candidate and be available to start immediately
• The roster is 10 days on and 4 days off
